R&D Applications Specialist – Earth Sciences

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic Applications Specialist for our Earth Sciences Applications Team. This person will work closely with other R&D departments and internal teams as well as collaborate with Universities/Customers. This person will participate in the development and testing of innovative devices.

Job description

  • Develop new applications on TIMA microscope with the support of systems engineers and other departments
  • Communicate with research teams across the world
  • Actively participate in international scientific meetings, conferences and exhibitions
  • Participate in meetings with key customers
  • Interface with other R&D teams and prepare materials for them
  • Perform experimental testing of microscopes and devices and give feedback to system engineers
  • Create application notes, process and protocol documents
  • Sample analysis from all over the world

Duties and responsibilities

  • University degree in geology, mineralogy or a related field
  • Overview in analytical methods used in geology
  • Overview in mineralogy /geochemistry
  • Ability to absorb detailed technical information and recent advances in the field
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Proven communication skills
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
